The unprecedented increase in unemployment has no doubt effected every U.S. citizen in one way shape or form. If you have not been laid off, then chances are you are close to someone who has been. You probably even have one or more within your family that has been let go in the past year. It touches the heart to hear of loved ones losing so much and then struggling month after month to find a way to replace the lost income. But who has been hurt the most throughout this financial recession? Believe it or not, it is the majority of those who voted Barack Obama into the Presidency, it is the Democrats and Independents.
Back in January of this year, when the unemployment rate was at 7.6%, many blamed President Bush for the unemployment disaster. And while he did play his own part in allowing the first stimulus package and the buy out of many banks, it was made dramatically worse by President Obama. Obama did not allow the economy to simply heal on its own, he pushed to further the national debt, crippling the U.S. dollar, and all the while convincing many Americans that it was the proper course of action to stimulate the economy.
President Obama and the mainstream media has since then lied numerous times telling the public the economy is growing, that unemployment rates are improving, and that we are going in the “right” direction. This could not be further than from the truth. And yet, his loyal followers, who are taking the brunt of the economic crisis, still listen and believe with unemployment now at a staggering 10.2%.
Why is it that those who are suffering the most from this situation continue unfailing support of the Obama administration? Is it that so many have grown so dependent on the government that they are still encouraged by the empty promises of Obama? Perhaps it’s the vainess of sticking beside one’s own race without question? Or maybe it is like rooting for your favorite football team, no matter what you will go with your political party for better or for worse. Many Americans regardless of social standing do not like to admit when they have made a mistake. What ever the case is, I think it can be all of the above. Sadly, according to Rasmussen Reports it is Obama’s supporters, the Democrats and the minority population, that are being hit the hardest by unemployment.
The data collected by the Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey states:
“Data from Rasmussen Reports national telephone surveys shows that 15.0% of Democrats in the workforce are currently unemployed and looking for a job. Among adults not affiliated with either major party, that number is 15.6% while just 9.9% of Republicans are in the same situation.”
How do I know who supported Obama the most? As reported by BBC News on exit polls in their article Who Voted For Obama, he had the most support from first time voters, young voters, Democrats, and minority groups. And ironically, 62% of those who voted for Barack Obama cited that the economy was their main factor. Since his appointment to office, it has only worsened and regressed at a rate that no one ever thought possible.
What has our President that promised so much hope and change done to improve our economic woes? Why, he has made them far more and far worse. If you were in deep financial debt would you try to get out by spending more money? No, of course not. You would hunker down and take out the frivolous things in your life to make up the difference while paying back what you owe little by little. Yet, this administration instead took it upon themselves to spend not only our money, but our children and our grandchildren’s money, in the hopes of stimulating an economy that had already been overspent.
Those who were in financial trouble would have been better off to slip into bankruptcy and to lose a few jobs rather than to become slaves to the federal government who bought out their stocks to “save” them. No company is too big to fail. Instead, the deeds of the Obama administration has bankrupted the entire nation and left us in debt to other countries. In the meantime, those who provide the unshaken support of our President suffer the hardest in false hope that he will somehow rescue them by paying their gas and mortgage. Is the Democrat party so hungry for power that they are willing to make more people dependent on the government in supplying their every need like with this healthcare bill, giving them the power over our very health and well-being? It will spiral America into more economic hardship and leave us at the mercy of the country with the greatest stock in America (a.k.a. China). In a once Republic nation that is now resembling a socialist/communist country, how ironic that we look to China for support at this time. (Why else did you think Obama is spending so much time over there?)

TU95 Russian Bomber
Here we go again, another Russian Bomber flying over international waters in the Pacific. On November 12, 2009 two Russian Tu-95 Bear strategic bombers were performing a routine patrol over the Pacific Ocean. Two NATO F-15 fighter jets shadowed the two Russian bombers for over 15 hours. Ever since August 2007 Russia, then under President Putin, began to resume bomber patrols over international waters. Such a move has not been done since the fall of the old Soviet Union back in the early 90’s.
What purpose does Russia think that flying bombers in international air space might do for their country? Is Russia trying to jump-start a new cold war with the West? I thought that both our countries had finally put that beside us and become peaceful allies. Maybe right now is not the time for President Barak Obama to be pursuing a peaceful disarmament of our nuclear arsenal with a country that for now is not really show an interest in being very peaceful with us.

I don’t know about you, but I have found the build-up of China’s military to be quite alarming. To

further my fears a U.S. Admiral in command of the U.S.S. George Washington strike group in the Pacific admitted to A.P. that he too finds China’s recent purchases of military hardware very questionable too. In the article to A.P. Admiral Donegan stated concerns in China’s use of such a military. The Admiral also did not rule out the possibility that China may be requiring an aircraft carrier. Although his main concern right now is the anti-weapons systems that China is now acquiring. These systems include missiles and submarines that may pose a serious risk to our armed forces in the region.
With China becoming a growing economic power it should not be a surprise that they would pursue an interest in increasing the power in the region. Annually, it has been reported by the experts in the A.P. that China has been spending 10 percent of the country’s wealth for the past 2 decades for their military. Officials figure that China spends about $71 billion a year on their armed forces, but some experts believe that they spend a lot more than that.
This surely is not a time for the United States to turn a blind eye to what China is doing. We should not be engaged in a process of disarming our own military or our nuclear deterrent capabilities, but instead growing our military might. Must I remind you that a strong communist threat like China in the region would most likely pose a serious threat to freedom and democracy in the Asia/Pacific region and our own country. Some people say that our hands are tied due to all the financial help that we have received from the Chinese. That should not stop us. My fellow Americans if that is the case then we are already doomed, however, I for one do not believe that. We can still stop this; by lowering or getting rid of our capital gains and corporate taxes, stopping our over spending in Washington and at home, and make it more acceptable for companies to stop sending American manufacturing jobs overseas. Our food, household produces, electronics, and military weapons should be produced mainly in the U.S., not in another country. I am not trying to say that we should become an isolationist country, but we should be producing a lot more for ourselves. A person or country who depends on others to supply them with everything they need is weak and helpless. I for one do not consider myself nor my country helpless.

There is no doubt that this strange rain fell on the small U.S. town in the Northwest, however, is it really an indication of germ warfare? According to the video below, in 1994 in the town of Oakville Washington a gelatinous rain came down for the first time as reported by local police. The substance found contained white blood cells, and was sent in for testing. The public tests and a private lab discovered that is was teaming with live bacteria. Shortly after this rain fell, many of the residents became very ill and a lot of animals also died.
There are now suspicions of biological weapon testing in Oakville Washington, but the military denies any involvement in the mysterious rain that fell in this small town. And for that matter, any weapons using weather control at all. But there are those who do argue those claims. Could this be an unfortunate event of contaminated water having been evaporated and happening to come down on Oakville?
In addition, some are also linking this incident to the now publicized outbreak of dangerous respiratory pneumonia in the Ukraine and Romania in the past few months that has caused a very high death toll. People are connecting them as germ warfare having been tested for the past 15 years or more and that now this respiratory pneumonia is a bio weapon as well. Of course there is no verification in these stories, no military coming forward from any country, no terrorist cell taking responsibility, and no concrete evidence to really support any of the claims.
It is a sad situation, that unknown and unexpected disease comes about in our world. But I feel it is just that, a freak coincidence that happens to effect human health in a dramatic way. I have seen evidence of weather control weapons and the “proof” has yet to convince me that it is very advanced or that it’s used to spread disease. I am more apt to believe that someone would release a disease such as we are seeing in the Ukraine and Romania through contact or injection, rather than the intentional distribution of bacteria through rain. Is it possible? Yes, it probably is in the future, but I really do not think we have advanced to that point as of yet. But this is just my opinion. May God bless and heal those who have been afflicted with these and all other diseases regardless of their origin.
I thought this was a very well written and touching poem by one of our U.S. soldiers so I wanted to share it with everyone.

It is November and with this month comes the outpouring of people telling that of which they are most thankful. Many common answers, and good ones at that, are family, friends, health, etc. But one that I don’t see much on my browsing of social networks is gratitude for the freedom and liberty that we as Americans are fortunate to enjoy. I also do not see much in the area of gratefulness for the hard work and sacrifice of our current and past American soldiers. It seems the pride in our country is eroding along with the realization of the gift that comes with being U.S. citizens.
Liberty by definition means the immunity from arbitrary exercise of authority, or in other words, the freedom to think or feel or do just as one pleases. We must understand the unique privilege that Americans possess. It is a gift from God. Of course we must teach the morally correct way to live one’s life, but above all it is up to each of us to live the way we choose. This is where the idea of unalienable rights from the U.S. Declaration of Independence, “that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness” may have come from. Yes, the majority our Founding Fathers were in fact God-fearing men. Most of the world today and throughout history has not enjoyed the vast freedom that we as Americans have been allowed. The government placed in America was inspired and unique to provide a place free of a tyrannical rule. No other country on earth in the present time or in the past has ever gone to such great lengths to ensure the preservation of liberty as the United States of America.
Knowing this great blessing that comes with being an American over the past centuries has been the foundation of courage, pride, and selflessness for the many men and women who have served in the armed forces. From the Revolutionary war to the War on Terrorism our veterans and current soldiers have understood the unique freedoms that they fought to keep for their loved ones. A friend of ours said in response to a women asking why he was proud to reenlist and fight after 9/11 replied with, “I would rather fight terrorism overseas away from my family than to see it ever happen here again.” It is to protect the families of America and the freedom and privileges that they defend to ensure that future generations have the same equal opportunities that our soldiers continue to this day to selflessly give their time and sometimes their lives.
Though any words I write feel completely inadequate, I want to say that I am so very grateful for the sacrifice that all our soldiers and their families have made. Thank you for keeping us free and safe. Thank you for believing in our country. I know that many do not view themselves as heroes, but you are in so many ways. You not only defend our country, but bring justice to those who have brought threats against us. Having never served in the military myself, I can not understand fully the meaning that this Veterans’ Day holds for those who have. When the health care reform bill passed the House on Saturday by a 220-215 vote, it was as clear as ever that we are a country divided. The vast majority of those in favor of the bill were from the Democrat party except for one, Rep. Anh “Joseph” Cao of New Orleans, who was singled out as the one Republican that the Obama administration could sway to do their bidding. And, having received the “Obama Treatment” and oodles of political “advice” was just what Mr Cao needed to mold him into the one thing the administration needed…bipartisanship.
With the well known controversy of the Pelosicare bill surrounding the two political parties of Democrat and Republican, the one thing that was obvious was that no GOP member in their right mind was going to vote in its favor. It has been evident from the beginning of President Obama’s presidency that it was a difficult task to bring in enough support for a bill like this with the endless campaigning and lobbying on the part of the administration and it’s supporters. They were even right back on the band wagon as soon as the bill passed trying to devise their next plan to be able to forward the agenda. But the claim of bipartisanship was an obstacle that they wanted to over come, just so they could have that under their belt when arguing in defense of Pelosicare. Although, I would hardly call one measly Republican vote bipartisan.
This is why they spent so much time in the weeks before on Rep. Anh “Joseph” Cao. They saw a link that was weak enough to break. According to Fox News, Rep. Cao said that President Obama spoke with him for “a period of a couple weeks” and that Obama’s staff spoke with him “on a number of occasions.” And those talks sound a lot like flattery to me. Cao told Fox News that “We were able to sit down to talk about recovery, to talk about the needs of the district.”
The excuse for voting in favor of the health care bill in Mr. Cao’s eyes, was that his political situation is “special” due to having won in an upset election last December over Democrat William Jefferson. Cao even said to The Times-Picayune during the summer, “voting against the health care bill will probably be the death of my political career.” So, forget the Constitution, the American freedoms and liberty, the fight against more government control…just worry about your political career, because that’s what really matters in the end.
In my heart I know it probably won’t happen due to the overwhelmingly majority of democratic voters in New Orleans, but I sincerely hope that Rep. Anh Cao (and all Rhinos across America) get the boot in the 2010 elections. We do not need people in office that worry more about their political career than the future of America, and that goes for all parties. No more career politicians!

White House Spent ‘Weeks’ Courting Lone GOP Vote on Health Care Bill

There was very little notice for most of America in regards to the “Emergency House Call on Congress”. With the protest being organized only about one week before the event was to occur, the turn out was impressive. At least 10,000 or more people descended on the nations capitol to let Congress know that the current health care bill presented by democrats is not what Americans want. They chanted phrases like, “Hands off our health care,” and “Kill the bill.”
It was a peaceful demonstration that was lead by Michele Bachmann and Pete Hoekstr. The group was there with urgency with voting possible as early as Saturday and since the health care legislation presented will not only cost the nation upwards of $1.1 trillion dollars, but will also lead to a decline in the quality of care that is received in our country. It will empower the government with authority they are not meant to have over our lives; it will take away freedom and consumer choice.

There are many types of people who we come across throughout life, most of those to my good fortune have been hard-working, good-natured individuals that are bent on doing right and making an honest living. But on occasion, especially in the recent years, I have met some who are perfectly happy living off of others, or as I use to know it, being freeloaders. I have heard many times over, “Why go get a job when welfare pays more?” Or, “I’m not going to look for a job until my unemployment is almost up because it pays better.” And of course other similar remarks have come about too.
This seems to be an epidemic in our country now. Gone is the “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country,” attitude. It has been replaced with the notion that the government owes you something, if not everything. That you are somehow entitled to things you have never even worked for or tried to achieve. We have become a nation of many who are far too dependent on government for their needs and too selfish to care about the freedoms they give up in place of an easy mediocre life. And so, when big government rears its head as “help” and “hope” they immediately leap onto the train without a thought as to where is it’s true destination.
Once again, as we have seen numerous times in the previous months, Washington is seeking to expand what it seems to be a generous arm to help the people by extending unemployment benefits by up to 20 weeks and also extending the home buyer tax credit. In a 98-0 vote, the Senate passed the $24 billion Worker, Homeownership and Business Assistance Act of 2009 plunging our nation further into unnecessary and unprecedented debt. Will this help the issue with job loss? No, it will only pay those who are unmotivated to stay that way for 20 more weeks at the expense of the taxpayers who are still working. Will it help the economy? No, it will make those who are working hold on to their money that much more knowing that tax increase is inevitable to pay for the multiple bailouts backed by insufficient funds.
All the while it may help few that really are trying desperately to find a job, but it is increasing national debt, enabling freeloaders, and allowing more government control of business. What is needed right now is less spending and less government to get America back on track. This is a bipartisan step in the wrong direction. And with the Obama administration crushing American’s faith in capitalism, ruining the U.S. dollar, implementing unnecessary programs, and pushing to pass more government take over, you can bet that the dependency on the government will only grow at an accelerated pace. It is ironic that those who are in majority at Washington right now are called Progressives because we as a country are clearly regressing. We are moving away from a free society and towards socialism.
