From WND

There was very little notice for most of America in regards to the “Emergency House Call on Congress”. With the protest being organized only about one week before the event was to occur, the turn out was impressive. At least 10,000 or more people descended on the nations capitol to let Congress know that the current health care bill presented by democrats is not what Americans want. They chanted phrases like, “Hands off our health care,” and “Kill the bill.”

It was a peaceful demonstration that was lead by Michele Bachmann and Pete Hoekstr. The group was there with urgency with voting possible as early as Saturday and since the health care legislation presented will not only cost the nation upwards of $1.1 trillion dollars, but will also lead to a decline in the quality of care that is received in our country. It will empower the government with authority they are not meant to have over our lives; it will take away freedom and consumer choice.

I am for doing good to the poor, but I differ in opinion of the means. I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it. In my youth I travelled much, and I observed in different countries, that the more public provisions were made for the poor, the less they provided for themselves, and of course became poorer. And, on the contrary, the less was done for them, the more they did for themselves, and became richer. – Ben Franklin

There are many types of people who we come across throughout life, most of those to my good fortune have been hard-working, good-natured individuals that are bent on doing right and making an honest living. But on occasion, especially in the recent years, I have met some who are perfectly happy living off of others, or as I use to know it, being freeloaders. I have heard many times over, “Why go get a job when welfare pays more?” Or, “I’m not going to look for a job until my unemployment is almost up because it pays better.” And of course other similar remarks have come about too.

This seems to be an epidemic in our country now. Gone is the “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country,” attitude. It has been replaced with the notion that the government owes you something, if not everything. That you are somehow entitled to things you have never even worked for or tried to achieve. We have become a nation of many who are far too dependent on government for their needs and too selfish to care about the freedoms they give up in place of an easy mediocre life. And so, when big government rears its head as “help” and “hope” they immediately leap onto the train without a thought as to where is it’s true destination.

Once again, as we have seen numerous times in the previous months, Washington is seeking to expand what it seems to be a generous arm to help the people by extending unemployment benefits by up to 20 weeks and also extending the home buyer tax credit. In a 98-0 vote, the Senate passed the $24 billion Worker, Homeownership and Business Assistance Act of 2009 plunging our nation further into unnecessary and unprecedented debt. Will this help the issue with job loss? No, it will only pay those who are unmotivated to stay that way for 20 more weeks at the expense of the taxpayers who are still working. Will it help the economy? No, it will make those who are working hold on to their money that much more knowing that tax increase is inevitable to pay for the multiple bailouts backed by insufficient funds.

All the while it may help few that really are trying desperately to find a job, but it is increasing national debt, enabling freeloaders, and allowing more government control of business. What is needed right now is less spending and less government to get America back on track. This is a bipartisan step in the wrong direction. And with the Obama administration crushing American’s faith in capitalism, ruining the U.S. dollar, implementing unnecessary programs, and pushing to pass more government take over, you can bet that the dependency on the government will only grow at an accelerated pace. It is ironic that those who are in majority at Washington right now are called Progressives because we as a country are clearly regressing. We are moving away from a free society and towards socialism.

And since you are probably in desperate need of another boring over sized pile of papers to read here is the 1900 page health care bill from Pelosi herself. I don’t recommend printing it out though, it’s not worth the paper. http://health.burgess.house.gov/UploadedFiles/House_HCR_bill.pdf

Why is the liberal and socialist Christian perspective on taxing the rich to give to the poor as a good thing so against the teachings of the Bible? First of all, in Exodus 20:15 (NKJ) “You shall not steal…” God specifically states that stealing is wrong and a sin. In the Webster dictionary to steal means: “to take the property of another wrongfully and especially as an habitual or regular practice.” Taking someone’s money could also be interpreted as taking someone’s property. Even though money is used to buy things, it is considered part of someone’s property as long as that person rightfully posses it.  Therefore, it is wrong under biblical means to take that person’s wealth to use it for means which the owner does not wish for it to be spent.

No matter what the cause people do not have the right as stated once again under God’s biblical Ten Commandments to take wealth from others.  Now, I am not saying that the Bible never said that it is not good to give. Quite the contrary, the Bible is full of references where God calls his people to be giving and generous to those who are in need, but it never states that anyone should be forced to give.

In Matthew 19:16-21 (NKJ) is says:

16“And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

17And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

18He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,

19Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

20The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?

21Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.”

Jesus was speaking to a rich, young Jewish man who wanted to know what he should do to have eternal life. Jesus began to answer his question by asking him if he has kept all the commandments. The young man stated that he did, but Christ knew the one commandment that the young man did not keep. Worshiping other images other than God, which in this man’s case was money. He simply put more trust in his personal wealth than in his Lord. That is why he needed to give it up to charity. It was not a sin to posses wealth, but rather a sin to believe that wealth was in essence more important and greater than God. So Jesus, in answering his question, told the young man to simply give it all up and follow him. That is were many socialist Christians get it all wrong. Yes, Jesus did say that in Matthew 19:23-24 (KJV):

23Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.

24And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.”

Lets look at these verses for a minute. Jesus did say that it is hard for a rich man to enter heaven, but not because of his wealth. He stated many times that the wealthy allow themselves to be overwhelmed with putting more faith in money rather than allowing God to lead them through their life and save them. That is why he said that it is hard to go to heaven when you are rich. When Jesus’ disciples later asked in verse 25 of the same chapter in Matthew ” Who then can be saved?”, Jesus then stated in verse 26, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”  Jesus was then letting the disciples know that only through faith in God can the rich man, or any man for that matter, find salvation. That is why Jesus said to the young rich man to give up his riches and follow him. Notice, Jesus never made him do it nor did he ever command his disciples to instruct the church to make it a mandatory cause. Do you want to know why? The answer is simple, if Jesus is not only the son of God, but God himself  incarnated in the man Jesus Christ, why then would he instruct his followers to break one of his own commandments? You see, God is the God of law and justice. God would never go against his own law. That is why he never told his disciples that taking from the rich to give to the poor is a just thing to do. Nor has God in his words ever instructed the government to do like wise. To do this would contradict God’s own nature and existence. That, my friends, will never happen.

As if there were not enough reasons to oppose Obamacare in the first place, here comes yet another. Although President Obama openly denied it, the health care reform bill that is in proposition at this time would impose harsh taxes on those in all income brackets. But wait, didn’t Obama PROMISE no new taxes on anyone making less than $250,000.00 a year?

Well, if passed, the health care bill would require that EVERYONE either purchases health care coverage or face, what is to most, large fines for not doing so. In fact, in the Senate finance version of the health care bill, those who choose not to purchase health care insurance would have to pay up to $1900.00 in fines per year! Of course, they see this as additional revenue coming in at an estimate of up to $20 billion, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

When President Obama was confronted about this on ABC’s “This Week” by George Stephanopoulos who suggested that fines levied for not complying with the mandate are a tax, he denied that it was any form of taxes. However, this is a lie, because it is even in the House and Senate written as a form of “taxes”.  As stated in NewsMax.com:

“One strong indicator: The mandate would become part of the Internal Revenue Code. Failing to pay the penalty would result in a misdemeanor crime punishable by a $25,000 fine and/or up to a year in jail. Also, both the House and the Senate versions of the bill refer to the mandate fines as a form of “taxes.”

As you can see, it is a tax. It is a tax on everyone, rich, poor, middle class, and everyone in between. The Democrats show themselves as being for “the working man” or “the little guy” but they are not. They will do what every is possible to gain more control and more money. So who does the President think he is fooling? Certainly not everyone. Not those of us who have bothered to look into the facts behind the Obama idol worshiping. I disagree with the statement made by News Max which said, “So Stephanopoulos was correct, and Obama was mistaken”. I do not think President Obama is an idiot. I think he knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that it is new taxes, he just did not want to admit that he has lied yet again.

Even more disturbing, is if we ask if we should expect even MORE new taxes. Well, when Wall Street Journal asked if there would be any on those with an income of less than $250,000 per year, the answer they received from OMB director Orszag was, “We’re in the midst of putting together the 2011 budget, and we’ll have more to say about that later.”

cash-for-clunkersI got the following in an email and thought I would share it on here. It makes you wonder how the heck the people who are in office really get there.

Clunker Math

Think of it this way,

A clunker that travels 12,000 miles a year at 15 mpg uses 800 gallons of gas a year.
A vehicle that travels 12,000 miles a year at 25 mpg uses 480 gallons a year.

So, the average Cash for Clunkers transaction will reduce US gasoline consumption by 320 gallons per year.
They claim 700,000 vehicles so that’s 224 million gallons saved per year.

That equates to a bit over 5 million barrels of oil.

5 million barrels is about 5 hours worth of US consumption.
More importantly, 5 million barrels of oil at $70 per barrel costs about $350 million dollars

So, the government paid $3 billion of our tax dollars to save $350 million.

We spent $8.57 for every dollar saved.
How good a deal was that ???

And people think they can handle healthcare???

live

Taxpayers stormed Washington, D.C. yesterday in record numbers. Fed up with overspending, and fear of the government taking over health care, protesters came in from all around the country to let political leaders in Washington know that they simply had enough. The number of supporters that came range from the thousands, ten thousand, to 2 million as reported by the London Daily Mail. What ever the number is you can surely see by the over view pictures (courtesy of World Net Daily) that this was no small crowd.

Miraculously, the White House stated that they were unaware of the rally, and that President was out of town in Minneapolis, Minnesota to promote his health care plans.  Isn’t that interesting? We all know that he knew that there was going to be a rally, but like always he decided to avoid listening to the other side. I must say that out of all my years of being interested in politics I have never seen such a partisan president as I have seen in President Obama.  Both President Bush and President Clinton always showed signs of not only listening to the other side, but even compromising when need. Obama stated that his door is always open, but he has not had a meeting with political leaders of the Republican Party since April and has avoided requests to do so since then. Simple put, the Democrats have basically shut the door to the Republicans on this and many other issues.

This attitude that the Democrats are displaying, will no doubt hurt them in the next coming elections in 2010. Hopefully, Republicans can undo most of the damage that the liberals are doing to our great nation.

*Chuckle* This should put into perspective the whole “spread the wealth” motto with a lot of democrats these days, including our President.

Spread The Treats Around

Are you surprised? I’m sure your not. We should have seen this coming. I remember my parents teaching me, “If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.” And that has been proved right in so many aspects of life that it is mind boggling. But one thing many people wouldn’t quickly suspect would be a program parading around as some kind of charity or stimulus as having a hidden rule. That hidden rule is that “up to $4500” that you “received” for that clunker is now considered part of your taxable income. How convenient this comes out after the program is done away with.  Not to mention, I am not too happy with what they did with all those “clunkers”. Instead of giving them to people who are without transportation and actually desperately need a car, they send them to big truck rallies for smashing entertainment or off to be made into scrap metal. I suppose when it comes to the new administration there is always going to be a catch.

The White House now confirms that the national deficit will likely reach upwards of $9 trillion dollars in the next ten years or so due to the new programs passed by President Barack Obama and both Houses. And this doesn’t even include if they get to pass their Health Care Reform which is projected to cost over $1 trillion dollars by itself. The White House representatives say this is due to the severity of the recession. I say it is due to the government getting too involved. Had they let the recession work itself out at least the national deficit would have not been so severe and the American people could look forward to keeping the money they work so hard to earn.

Of course, now President Obama and the Democrats on board with him want to pay for all of this and the health care reform by, you’ll never guess, raising taxes. Oh wait, didn’t Obama run on a promise NOT to raise taxes on the upper middle class and lower? That won’t happen now. There is a lot of discussion on raising taxes on everything like fast food, anything with sugar, more on oil, rental properties, eliminating itemized tax deductions, and several others on the oil industry which means even higher than seen before gas prices. If you think this doesn’t apply to the common citizen, think again. Aside from the high gas and consumer goods prices, most of these taxes are going to be on your employers and landlords. This means less pay for you, or no job at all, and higher rent payments. Yep, Obama sure is fixing the economy! Fixing it for doomed failure.
